Australia has long suffered an inferiority complex. We are guilty of what is referred to as the cultural cringe – in fact, we even invented that expression. Granted Julian Gillard’s nasal drone has the capacity to induce an all over body tension when representing Australia on a world stage, but when it comes to the creative industries, we have no reason but to be filled with pride for the amazing talent that hails from our fair shores. And Recollection – an online archive of Australian graphic design from 1960-1980 – is extensive proof of the fact.
