Jennifer Abessira is a Paris-born photographer who now resides in Tel Aviv. Shooting with her mobile phone or a simple digital camera, her work captures an inherent spirit of spontaneity, inquisitiveness and youth.
‘Elastique’ is an ongoing project by the photographer, a visual diary of sorts, which couples her own work with found images. Her pairings are an attempt to make “universal peace between images”. For some of her images the connections are obvious, but for others the union is perhaps only perceived by the eye (or in the mind) of Abessira herself. Form, subject, colour, line, idea, surfaces, textures, shape: these are the concepts behind the symbiotical marriage of her images, reconciling ideas and an encouraging new perceptions.
