You know what they say: beauty is all around if you take the time see it. I bet no one said that with Brooklyn’s Gowanus Canal in mind. But that is what a good photographer will do freeze moment in time for you take it in your own time and show something that perhaps you would have seen differently or not have seen at all. Photographer William Miller took these series of photographs of the scummy surface of this polluted New York canal with surprisingly beautiful results. Without any context some look like galaxies, or beautiful abstract oil paintings.
