Dion Lee’s Autumn/Winter 2014 collection was shown at New York Fashion Week this year. Described by Dion as ‘Nostalgic Australiana’, the suiting and tailored pieces were inspired by the uniforms of convicts from the 18th century penal colony. But what would an Australian inspired collection be without a reference to it’s exotic wildlife? Dion’s prints were a vivid take on crocodile hide in ocean blue, with splashes of mulberry.
