Wow! I think it’s safe to say that anyone who doesn’t look at these photos, take a deep breath, smile, and feel totally in awe of how amazing this world is needs their head checked. ‘Before they pass away’ is a long-term project of photographer Jimmy Nelson to capture vanishing tribes of the world. Nelson spends six weeks with each tribe documenting their everyday life. According to Nelson, his mission was to assure that the world never forgets how things used to be: “Most importantly, I wanted to create an ambitious aesthetic photographic document that would stand the test of time. A body of work that would be an irreplaceable ethnographic record of a fast disappearing world.”
