Dion Lee‘s Resort 2014 collection was based on the theme of oil and water, and the way that the two fluids co-exist retaining their individual properties as they interact. Dion’s prints capture that metallic sheen of oil as it mixes with water and the surface patterns of these fluids as the oil bubbles and seeps, permeating the purity of water. Even his placement prints seem to represent the polarity of these two substances with with woven print in deep blues, layered over in swirling, flowing shapes. A slick collection in every sense of the word.
