Mapestries

After a fantastic (and busy) week at MBFWA, we thought the work of Hannah Waldron was the perfect sweet slice of calm to follow the storm. While we were wrapped in a fashion flurry last week, the annual Salone Internazionale del Mobile di Milano (Milan furniture fair) showcased the best of furniture and design from around the world. London artist Hannah Waldron exhibited her map weavings titledĀ To Houshi Onsen during the fair at the Rossana Orlandi gallery.

Calling on the more traditional uses of textiles in many indigenous cultures to tell stories, her tapestries are personal record of her travels from Japan to Berlin and New York City.
