Texan artist Adrian Esperaza reworks traditional Mexican blankets, using the thread to create beautiful geometric wall-mounted sculptures. Juarez, Mexico and El Paso, Texas, where Esperaza is from, together comprise the most densely populated bi-national area in the world, with many Mexicans crossing the border to work every day and vice versa. Esperaza’s work explores representation of Mexican culture in the US and the jarring socioeconomic contrast at this cultural cross section.
