French photographer Francis Giacobetti has collaborated with Issey Miyake on numerous campaigns for his Pleats Please range, in the late 90s and from 2013 onwards. Pleats Please is positioned to embody one of the most fundamental concepts of Issey Miyake – where the true value of design lies in its integration into the everyday life and comfort of the wearer. Giacobetti’s photographs have been exhibited as design museums all over the world.
“With dancers as his models, he was able to capture the changing expressions of Pleats Please with each dancer’s movement,” reads the Pleats Please book published by Taschen. “This work culminated in a striking series that showcased Pleats Please’s radiant palette and prints.”
