Brooklyn artist Esther Ruiz thinks of her sculptures as little settings or mini landscapes unto their own. With a futuristic industrial feel, the bright pop colours of her materials reflect against their gritty concrete bases; it’s easy to see why her sculpture feel like miniature otherworldly cities. Outer space, contemplating new undiscovered lands and imagining different perspectives of the universe inform Esther’s process. What would the sun setting look like from Saturn?
