It is said that juxtaposing elements help the human brain create meaning and stimulate intrigue. A rose itself is a naturally-occurring juxtaposition – a soft fragile flower stemmed with sharp razored thorns. As the subject of Josh Goot’s signature prints (created by long-time collaborators Shane Sakkeus and Stacia Hadiutomo) the rose is a fitting choice. Goot’s designs seem characterised by these same forces of opposition – strong yet feminine, with sleek contemporary cuts, alongside fuller couture-esque pieces.
