Malena Lopez Maggi has a unique job title: artist and chocolate maker. While we can’t say we’ve tried her chocolate her geode sculptures are pretty special. California-based Malena is a creator of all sorts, working with materials to unlock their true potential. With a vision of creating forms that are complex, yet quiet, alien yet familiar, the textures, colours and forms of her work are inspired endless visual stimuli of her surrounds: geodes, fruit, curly hair, beads, internet wormholes, pictures of diatoms, the atmospheric haze of the San Francisco bay horizon and more.
